Care Instructions, Tips and Useful Products For Your Wood Furniture

Care Instructions

Here are a few tips and products for keeping your furniture “like new” for years to come!

  1. Give your furniture SEVEN days to cure with light use only. The finish needs time to fully harden before “normal” use. Full cure is 30 days.
  2. Cleaning is easy! A damp cloth and mild detergent is all you need. For everyday use, we recommend using placemats, trivets with FELT protectors and table pads to protect against scratches, dings/dents and immediately wiping away spilled liquids.  We use Method Wood Spray for monthly “polishing”(affiliate link below). We recommend you do NOT use Pledge on your furniture!
  3. Avoid putting extremely hot or cold objects in direct contact with your wood surface. Extreme temperatures can cause discoloration and/or damage the wood finish.
  4. Sunlight is one of nature's elements that can cause damaging effects to your new furniture. It is preferable not to expose your furniture to direct sunlight for long periods of time and to leave your table leaf extensions in place to ensure the uniform aging of your finish.

The Products We Recommend

We know there are a lot of products out there claiming to be good for wood furniture, so we thought we'd help by compiling some of our favorite products for you and your furniture. These are affiliate links, but rest assured that just like our furniture, we would never recommend something we wouldn't buy!

Every Day Cleaning

To clean your items after meals or greasy little hands have been all over them, use a mild detergent and soft sponge like those in the links below.

Monthly Cleaning

Once a month break out the microfiber cloths and wood spray to give your furniture some shine. We highly caution you when using chemical-laden products on your furniture- it can do a number on your finish! We personally use and recommend Method Wood Polish and have also included a link to microfiber cloths for your shopping pleasure!
