Chest Beds

A chest bed puts two dressers worth of storage where you were already sleeping. Every Barewood chest bed is built in America from solid alder and hand-finished by Amish craftsmen — an elevated pedestal base holding up to twelve drawers, paired with your choice of headboard: a clean flat panel, a traditional raised panel, or an 11-inch-deep bookcase headboard with shelving built right in.

Choose a High (21 1/2") or Low (14") base, mix six-drawer, three-drawer, and blank pedestals to suit the room, and order it in any of 27 manufacturer's finishes — 14 stains and 13 paints — or unfinished with custom local finishing.

From there, build out the rest of the room with the coordinating Shaker casegoods shown here: nightstands in several widths, six-drawer and ten-drawer dressers, a combo dresser, chests in three-drawer, six-drawer, and wide options, a lingerie chest, a wardrobe, an armoire, a desk, a blanket box, a step stool, and matching mirrors — all in the same finishes and hardware, so the whole room reads as one piece.
