The island pairs a solid pine body with an engineered-wood top — a smart combination that keeps the rustic pine character where you see it and dimensional stability where you work. The two-tone, multi-step lacquer finish sets a weathered white base under a warm brown top, hand-distressed so each island wears its own pattern. One thing worth knowing about pine in a white finish: the knots that give the wood its character hold natural resins, and over time they can bleed through a white finish as small amber patches of discoloration. It's a natural trait of real pine — not a defect — and part of the lived-in rustic look this collection is designed around.
