The Bonfire Ivory Buffet is built from pine wood with okume veneer, giving the piece real wood character with a smooth, even surface for the finish work. The ivory is a multi-step lacquer finish, hand-rubbed and lightly distressed so the color has depth and a softly worn feel rather than a flat, painted look, while the top wears a warm brown wood tone for contrast. One thing worth knowing about painted pine: pine naturally contains knots, and over time those knots can bleed through a painted ivory finish, creating slight discoloration that's part of the wood's natural character.
